A young girl took her pet goat to a California State Fair, without knowing that it might be the last time she may ever see her goat.
According to a lawsuit filed on behalf of a 9-year-old girl, her pet goat was taken to the California state fair and ended up being barbecued.
The lawsuit claims that despite the family’s attempt to withdraw the entry from auction, the goat was sold for $902, slaughtered, and barbecued.
Filed by the girl’s mother, the lawsuit states that the girl had a strong bond with her pet goat.
When the mother attempted to retrieve the goat, it was already too late.
Although she managed to take the goat, the head of the fair warned her that she could be charged with a felony for taking the animal without permission, as reported by the Sacramento Bee.
