13-year-old Florida Girl Survives Shark Attack

A 13-year-old girl from Florida, Ella Reed, has survived a shark attack while sitting in shallow water with a friend near a jetty in the Fort Pierce area.

Reed recounted how the shark, which she believed to be a bull shark, hit her stomach hard and refused to leave her alone.

She was forced to punch the shark, which then bit her arm, finger, and knee.

Reed called her family after the attack, and her mother was stunned by the sight of her daughter covered in blood from the attack.

The female teenager received 19 stitches in total for her injuries.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission has reported 16 unprovoked shark attacks in the state of Florida in 2020, with 10 in the Atlantic Ocean and six in the Gulf of Mexico.

Despite the experience, Ella Reed remains unfazed and still enjoys the ocean.
