Around noon on Wednesday, an enormous blast and fire erupted at the Back River Wastewater Treatment Plant located in Dundalk, Maryland.
Emergency response teams were observed arriving at the location of the explosion and subsequent fire.
According to the Baltimore County Fire Department, they received a call for a two-alarm commercial building fire and explosion at the Back River Waste Water Treatment Plant.
The facility is located in the 8200 block of Eastern Avenue.
The fire department arrived shortly before 11:30 a.m.
The Back River Waste Water Treatment plant was taken over by the state of Maryland last year.
