Furious Dove followers began boycotting Dove after the soap brand hired a Black Lives Matter activist, Zyanha Bryant, notorious for destroying a white student’s life over a remark she later admitted she may have ‘misheard.’
Bryant is infamous for ruining the reputation of UVA student Morgan Bettinger in 2020 when she alleged she heard her threaten BLM protesters.
Specifically, she claimed Bettinger said that protesters would “make good speedbumps,” according to the Daily Mail.
The BLM activist’s accusations about Bettinger threatening protesters spread like wildfire, she faced threats as people surrounded her vehicle and her name was dragged through the mud.
Scores of other angry users on X, formerly known as Twitter, also vowed to stop buying Dove products in protest at the campaign, which 22 year-old Bryant has been pushing on Instagram.
“After hearing that Dove Beauty chose Zyanha Bryant — who ruined Morgan Bettinger’s life — for their ‘fat acceptance ambassador,’ former Dove customer tossed out the last three bars of Dove products she will EVER buy,” one, Carole Thorpe, tweeted Thursday night along with a shot of the bars in her trash.
