Midwest Pounded by Deadly Tornadoes and Extensive Destruction

Severe storms and tornadoes wreaked havoc across the South and Midwest, causing extensive damage, numerous fatalities, and leaving residents in disbelief.

Several storms, which may have produced dozens of tornadoes, caused destruction across the South and Midwest.

The storms caused the death of 18 individuals in both small towns and large cities.

They also caused caused damage in the Arkansas capital, caused the roof of a crowded concert venue in Illinois to collapse, and left residents in the area confused and shocked by the extent of the destruction on Saturday.

Tornadoes, confirmed or suspected, ravaged homes, businesses, trees, and neighborhoods across a large area that is home to approximately 85 million people in at least seven states.

Among the fatalities were seven individuals from McNairy County, Tennessee, four from the small town of Wynne, Arkansas, and three from Sullivan, Indiana.
