A 40-year-old man lost his life after being trapped in machinery at Mativ Inc. Paper Mill in Whiting, Central Wisconsin.
Mativ Executive Vice President of Operations, Jason Free, expressed deep sorrow over the employee’s death, assuring a thorough investigation.
Emergency responders attempted to save the victim’s life but were unable to prevent the tragic outcome.
The Portage County Sheriff’s Office is working alongside Mativ to determine the cause of the incident.
The identity of the deceased worker has not yet been disclosed.
Authorities reported that the man became stuck in a paper machine at the mill.
Mativ fully cooperates with the investigation and extends condolences to the family and all affected parties.
